Calamari

Hello welcome back to my blog and today’s topic is Calamari. If you don’t know what Calamari is, it’s basically fried squid. Eating fried squid dose sound a little gross to some of you but if you go to a restaurant or cook it yourself the taste should remind you of chicken or at lest that’s what it tasted like to me. Here is a list of things good Calamari should have.

  • The calamari meat should be firm and white with a mild slightly sweet almost nutty flavor.
  • Small fried squid are often firm and chewy but make sure they are not rubbery.
  • Fried calamari usually gets served with a garlicky aioli or a marinara sauce for dipping.

Calamari has intricate flavor that could only be describe as remarkable, though it can be a complex dish the amount of time and effort you put into the Calamari will bring out all of the amazing flavors . Here are some of the cooking steps that can help you when cooking the Calamari.

  • Have clean tentacles when you start off cooking.
  • Season with herbs and spices
  • Clean the whole calamari
  • Two minutes over heat is a good time anything more is going to make it rubbery.

When cooking calamari there are herbs and spices that go into bringing out the flavor, here is a list of some of those Herbs and Spices.

  • Black pepper
  • Paprika
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Chopped Parsley
  • Garlic Cloves
  • Chopped Oregano

I enjoy Calamari if it is cooked right because then it just makes me forget that I am eating squid.

Thank you so much for clicking on this blog, please let me know if there is any food you want me to try next of if there is a recipe you want me to try and make, but for right now I’m out.
